Rodin's Hands

At the Rodin Museum, I was really struck by his sculptures of two hands. When writing in my journal about them, I realized they are not so dissimilar from his nude sculptures, which my was my first impression. The hands seem to mimic the two bodies, male and female, a perfect match, a yin and a yang, almost in a sexual way. I was more impressed by the hands delicate curves and the gesture in which they were sculpted than anything else in the house. They were also at eye level, well for me, and that made a difference compared to the other sculptures that were at lower heights and not as visible in the round, which made the hands stand out. They were truly beautiful.
