Sainte Chapelle and the Pantheon
Today we visited both Sainte Chapelle and the Pantheon. There are interesting changes in the each of the buildings architecture. Sainte Chapelle marks the height of gothic architecture. Its skeletal structure exists solely to support 15 meter high windows. Other than a vaulted ceiling, the structure is composed of nearly all glass. On the other hand, the Pantheon many times the size of Sainte Chapelle but what makes it truly interesting are the enormous domed ceilings. For being a large stone building the interior is surprisingly bright. This is due to the large windows built into the ceilings
